This was the first time I’d visited Winkworth Arboretum despite living close by. I enjoy the vibrant autumn colours in these photos. The lead image has an unusual shot of light across the treetops that contrasts with the wintery, shadowy feel of the rest of the scene.
Of course, I’m also using this post as an excuse to sneak in one more portrait of the wife… The shot I’ve chosen wasn’t the sharpest of 3 alternatives I got under the tree, but it’s the least boring version in that it features both red and yellow and captures more of her character.
So I’m being fair, I’ve also included one picture she took of me, not looking my best, which I nevertheless like on account of the fact it came out somewhat filmic.
