Irresistible

During the summer bees flock to our English Lavender constantly throughout the day. They seemingly never stop. We have several other plants in our garden but the lavender is irresistible to them!

I sat by the lavender last July trying to capture a sharp shot of the fast moving bees. This was my best attempt.

I like the pleasing arch of the bee against the slope of the lavender’s stem with the wings providing balance (both visually and presumably also for the bee!)

The detail in how the bee grasps the plant, mines for nectar, and collects speckles of pollen are all things you don’t see with the naked eye but can enjoy about the image.
