Healthy Heart

Lord give my son a healthy heart,
One that's hard to break and quick to start,
Give him sense, impart strong will,
And with his heart do love instill,
So that love in turn o'ers' hearts will feel.
Let it grow; beat slow, and beat fast,
Give my son a healthy heart.

Lord give my son a sense of good,
And courage to face those misunderstood.
Give my son the strength of ten,
And let him use it to build, not break.

Give my son vocation just,
Lord give him means for needs, or at least needs must,
Trust him with a noble task,
Trust him with your biggest ask,
Then marvel at his fiery hearth,
Your latest, courageous work of art.

Lord give my son a healthy heart,
And leave the irregular beats, until his last,
And if he has just one beat to spare,
Then I pray that heart loves me as well.
